Army Corps' Pebble review continues amid federal shutdown

The latest federal review of the proposed Pebble Mine is still making headway despite the ongoing partial shutdown of the federal government, with its first results anticipated late next month.

John Budnik, a spokesman for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, said Tuesday that work is proceeding because the Department of Defense is not part of the shutdown precipitated by a showdown between President Trump and Democratic leaders in Congress over the president’s proposed border wall.
