Bristol Bay: Why Wild

Want to do your part to Save Bristol Bay Wild Salmon?  Eat One!

Trout Unlimited's recently launched Why Wild Program (www.whywild.org)  works to educate and engage salmon consumers, chefs, retailers, fishermen, and processors in TU's salmon conservation efforts.  By encouraging consumers to vote with their forks and choose wild salmon as a way to advocate for wild salmon conservation, TU Alaska’s Why Wild Program will be used to promote Bristol Bay's world-renowned sockeye salmon as well as increase public awareness about the need to protect this irreplaceable watershed. Trout Unlimited plans to work directly with Bristol Bay fisherman to help market their one of a kind salmon and the conservation of it’s habitat around the world.

Vote With Your Fork!
Your consumer dollars matter. When you buy wild salmon, you are not only investing in the salmon fishery, but you are also sending a clear message to decision-makers that you value wild salmon and demand that they and their habitat be managed responsibly.  When you choose Bristol Bay wild salmon, you are telling decision-makers that you value Bristol Bay’s pristine salmon habitat and clean waters, which supply us with millions of wild salmon each year.  So, next time you’re looking to buy wild salmon, ask for Bristol Bay Wild as your way to say “Yes” to protecting Bristol Bay and “No” to developing the Pebble Mine.
