ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- He's a famous crab fisherman with a hit show, but now he's diving into some controversy.

Sig Hansen from "Deadliest Catch" was in town Saturday making an appearance at the 5th Avenue Mall.

He's also making an appearance in an anti-Pebble Mine TV ad coming out this summer. The ads are funded by the Renewable Resources Coalition and Trout Unlimited Alaska.

Hanson and his crew are calling on Gov. Sarah Palin to stop the mine.

"As far as the Pebble Mine is concerned, I'm opposed to it right now, just for the simple fact that you're talking about Bristol Bay, an ecosystem that is so fragile," said Hansen.
