Trout Unlimited Encourages Seattle Chefs to Savor Bristol Bay

Trout Unlimited (TU) participated in the fifth annual Farmer-Fisher-Chef Connection in Seattle, Wash., earlier this month where over 200 Seattle chefs and business owners came together to discuss local, sustainable food options. TU distributed information about Bristol Bay’s salmon fishery and the proposed Pebble mine and also solicited support for its upcoming Savor Bristol Bay week in Seattle this summer. With the help of Chef Kevin Davis from the Steelhead Diner, TU handed out several hundred savory Bristol Bay salmon samples (donated by Wildcatch) to participants and encouraged chefs and other seafood buyers to vote with their salmon dollars for Bristol Bay salmon.
