We are incredibly appreciative that more than 700 businesses across the country have sent a letter to President Obama asking his administration to protect Bristol Bay under the Clean Water Act.
American business leaders are making it clear that they care about and are deeply invested in Bristol Bay's sustainable natural resources, which support 14,000 jobs and generate more than $500 million annually.
The letter urges the Obama Administration to use a power under the Clean Water Act called Section 404 (c) authority to prevent the negative impacts of Pebble Mine or other inappropriate development in the productive, clean watershed.
These 712 businesses join a large and growing assortment of job creators and industries that have called on the Obama Administration to protect Bristol Bay, including leaders in the jewelry industry, investment firms, outdoor industry, and commercial fishing.
